Electrical

Pictured above is the proposed design of the entire electrical system. All parts excluding the Multi-output voltage conversion module have been ordered and are expected to arrive in late December to early January.

The multi-output voltage conversion module will be a custom designed PCB in order to facilitate the design requirements for this project. The schematic capture and part sourcing will begin promptly to account for fabrication and shipping time of the PCB once completed.

Mechanical

The initial mechanical design consists of three mounts: the main electrical enclosure, the switch mount, and the haptic mounts. The enclosure is positioned at the rear of the bike on a bike rack, securely housing the battery, lidar, LED, Raspberry Pi, motor controllers, and power converters. The switch mount is affixed near the left handlebar, adjacent to the brake lever for convenient access while riding. The haptic mounts are installed on the inner sides of the handlebar tube.

These components require a certain level of weather resistance and will be manufactured using 3D printing technology. Consequently, PETG was chosen as the material to meet these specific criteria.
