Blog 11 - Improvements to Electrical Enclosure

The electronics were assembled to test their fit in the current design of the box. The box was able to be closed although the fit was very tight prompting a redesign with more space. On top of this standoffs were removed for more space to enable modular mounting. Also the screws that mount the lid to the box were increased to M3s for added stability. Additional minor improvements were made as well such are resizing the LED cutout. The updated design with a larger box is seen below.

Socket head screws were obtained although the maximum length was only 25mm which does not fit in the current implementation. To account for the shorter screws the nuts were brought inside of the box mount which hold the box to the bike rack. The use of socket head screws was part of the original design and enables more space in the box.
