Week 1 | Initial Problem Brainstorming

This week our group came up with some initial ideas here is the results we created:

Initial Problems + Solutions (Not Formal)

Problem 1

• Motivation: eliminate food waste and worry if there is enough food available. Food planning.
• Ideas:
• Fridge food tracking system
• Can be extended to making grocery lists, meal planning, and generating recipes with food in the fridge.

Problem 2

• Videographers have hours of footage which takes a lot of memory, time to wait and time to search.
• Ideas:
• Applications: Bird feeder, wildlife, basketball (highlight)
• Shot boundary detection

Problem 3

• Farming takes up a lot of area so we go vertical
• Ideas
• Sensors in plant: nitrogen detection, moisture detection
• Detect when the plant is ready

Problem 4

• Bikers are note safe on the road and lots of collision happen
• Ideas
• Object detection to notify bikers of blind spot cars
• Signals on bikes to notify drives

Other

• Food waste does not get sorted and lots of compost is put into the garbage
